The big game is just a few days away and we’re getting excited here! Although our team isn’t playing {again!}, we’re looking forward to the game, the commercials, and to some delicious game time grub! That’s where Alexia Crispy Onion Rings, Spicy Sweet Potato Fries, and Smart Classics Crinkle Cut Fries come in. Because really, you can’t have a true homegating experience in your living room without fries and onion rings.
While I look forward to noshing on delicious chicken with white bean chili and chicken wings, I’m most excited about delighting my tastebuds with Alexia Crispy Onion Rings dipped into a delicious Mango Dipping Sauce and trying out this delicious Spicy Ketchup with Crinkle Cut Fries. For those who love to combine spicy and sweet, I’m sharing a delicious Honey Strawberry Dipping Sauce that is amazing with Spicy Sweet Potato Fries!
Onion Rings make me weak in the knees. They are by far, my favorite appetizer and side dish. And, lucky for me, the folks at Alexia have perfected them. The combination of sweet onions with light Panko breadcrumbs is truly a match made in culinary heaven. I’m not typically a dipper, but when it comes to onion rings I’m always looking for a delicious dipping sauce. Store bought dips typically have a lot of ingredients that I try to avoid, so coming up with my own recipe was a must-do before the big game!
Making Mango Dipping Sauce
Making Mango Dipping Sauce is easier than you would think. Grab your mango, chop it finely and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine honey, lime juice, orange-mango juice, your favorite hot sauce, and garlic. Mix well to combine.
Add mango and stir. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the flavors develop. Before serving, add cilantro.
If Onion Rings aren’t your thing, give the Crinkle Cut French Fries a try. I’m typically a skinny fry gal, but these are tasty. And this spicy ketchup is the perfect dip.
Jazzing Up Store Bought Ketchup
I’m a huge fan of taking help from the store when it comes to dipping sauces for fries, especially for the big game! I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen, I want to be where the action is in the living room!
Making your store bought ketchup taste that much better is simple when you have a cabinet full of spices. Alexia Smart Classics Crinkle Cut Fries have a simple, delicious potato flavor. The simplicity of the flavor lends itself to a great partner for Spicy Ketchup.
Combine your favorite brand of ketchup with equal parts of your favorite hot sauce. You probably don’t want to share this with the kiddos!
If spicy ketchup isn’t your idea of a beautiful flavor combination, you may want to delight your tastebuds with this fun honey strawberry dip. It pairs beautifully with the Spicy Sweet Potato fries.
Honey Strawberry Dipping Sauce
I’ll be the first to tell you that I wasn’t quite sure what to serve with these Spicy Sweet Potato fries. I knew I wanted something unique and sweet. Typically, I reach for pure maple syrup when making a sweet dip, but this time I stretched myself and I am glad that I did.
I grabbed some mayonnaise – that is a nice base for dips as long as you balance it with a sweet or savory flavor – and some homemade Strawberry Jelly that my long-time friend Stacey sent me.
Mixing the two together in a small bowl until well combined took me about two minutes. Then I squeezed in some honey and stirred some more.
Let it sit for five minutes in the refrigerator before eating.
Whether or not your team is playing in the big game this year, you’ll be a winner when you serve Alexia Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries, and Classic Crinkle Cut Fries to your party guests!
