Our family loves watching movies. During the summer months, we head to the Drive-In theater for all the great family friendly movies, like Finding Dory. We enjoyed the movie so much, and now we’re looking forward to watching it at home this winter. Nothing beats watching a movie while sitting on the living room floor snuggled with your favorite snacks, popcorn, Kleenex® Finding Dory Tissue Box Designs, and the people you love. Today, I’m sharing an easy floor pillow tutorial to make movie watching at home even more comfortable.

How to Make a Floor Pillow
The first step in making a floor pillow, is cutting all of your fabric pieces and gathering your supplies.
Next, place two pieces of fabric right sides together. Pin in place on all four sides, leaving a 4 inch opening to add the stuffing.
To remind myself to stop sewing for an opening, I use a double pin technique. Very sophisticated, I know.
Be sure to reinforce the stitching around the opening by backstitching. Once you’ve sewn your square, clip the corners slightly.
Now you’ll turn the fabric so the right side is facing out. Using the end of a chopstick, a pencil eraser, or a corner tool, push the corners out slightly. Note: If using a chopstick, be sure to use the “non-working end” so that you don’t poke it through all the way!
Next comes the fun part! Adding the stuffing! I like to work the stuffing into the corners first. This method reduces the lumpiness of your pillow. Keep stuffing until it feels like it’s full enough, then add more!
Now it’s time for the not-so-fun part. Hand stitching the opening closed. Once you’ve stitched the opening closed, you’re ready to toss them on the floor for movie night!
These easy floor pillows can be made in a variety of fabric and color combinations. They’re perfect for family rooms, a child’s playroom, and bedrooms.
