My childhood memories are full of long days at the beach, doing gymnastic routines in my yard with WAHM! playing on my boombox, and afternoons playing with friends. When I was growing up, playing with friends wasn’t called a playdate; oh how times have changed!
When I became a mother, I knew that I wanted to create the same wonderful memories for my son. Now that he is an active toddler, planning fun playdates is a priority! As I work on my one little word for 2013 – present – I want to spend as much time on memorable activities as we can. We work on craft projects, take hikes on our local Audubon trails, and love to bake muffins and cookies. While every playdate may not be epic, we are creating amazing memories that my son will carry with him forever.
When I heard about Hyundai’s Epic Playdate Weekend, I began to think about an epic playdate would look like to my family. The Boy is obsessed with all things related to transportation, so a train ride into the city would be a great start. From there, we’d visit the aquarium and children’s museums before taking in a baseball game at Fenway Park! Doesn’t that sound like fun?
While I’m talking about epic playdates, let me tell you about one that will take place in Santa Barbara, California on April 27. From 9am – 5pm, a few of my favorite bloggers (Dooce, Mighty Girl, Oh Happy Day, Oh Joy, Say Yes To Hoboken, Girls Gone Child, BoingBoing, and How To Be A Dad) are hitting the beach and hosting epic workshops for kids – there will be an ice cream sundae bar, paint fight, kids’ photography class, hula-hooping workshop, and more! If you think your family would have a great time, be sure to enter to win a trip for four in Hyundai’s Epic Playdate WeekendSweepstakes!
WAIT! Before you head over to enter, I want to let you know that you that you must have a {free} pinterest account to enter and you must answer the question “How did you hear about us?” with Clever Girls Collective.

I could totally go for an epic playdate weekend right about now. Someplace warm – California or Florida, where I can at least pretend it’s Spring!
