This week’s featured guest post is written by Tina, author of Tina Gray {dot} me. Tina is a wife to one, a mom to five – one boy and FOUR girls! – living in New South Wales, Australia. She was named a Top 50 Blogger of 2010 by Kidspot and is one of the 2010 Modeno Modern Mamas too! I’m honored and excited that she’s guest posting for me today!

When Emily put a call out for guest posters and mentioned one of the themes was Organisation, I grabbed the opportunity so I could MAKE myself get our filing cabinet under control.
In a world that is so electronic, why do I still have so much paper in this house?! Even after contacting the banks and utility companies to have statements sent via email, I still have the need for a “to file” folder on my desk that ends up overflowing because filing is one of those chores that I keep putting off and I would outsource in a second if I had the chance.
I was so pumped to get it done that I didn’t even stop to think that I should have taken a “before” photo to show you all just how bad it was. That probably is a good thing because it could ruin my reputation with the small group of people that still think that I’m a control freak and have everything organized 😉 So I pulled everything out of the top that REALLY should just be stationery, but somehow contained everything but!
I culled about two years worth of paperwork that we really didn’t need to be keeping anymore. I labelled some new folders to make things a little more easier to find because the already basic folder labels were still a little tricky for those who don’t have “mum looks” when looking for things 😉
And now it looks like this:
But for how long, is anybody’s guess!
Tell me, do you have a filing cabinet? Do you use binders to keep your paperwork in control? Or is your house paper-free?
