1. As I’ve grown older, I’ve become more and more comfortable with myself. I am so happy with who I am, what I’ve become and what I’ve done. The Texan is an amazing husband and The Boy, oh he is just the sweetest, smartest, bravest little man that I know. It is wonderful to feel so happy, to feel something beyond content. This question was hard for me. I suppose that if I could change one thing about myself, I’d want to change my height. I’d love to be just two inches taller. It would mean that I wouldn’t struggle to reach things on the top shelf – no more using the tongs to get things out of the cabinets! – and I could save money by not having to take my pants to a seamstress to be shortened.
2. Getting lost. That is something I hate. In fact, I can’t think of a time when I was lost. {Maybe in Target?!} I need to know where I am going and how I am going to get there. Before GPS, I used to get a TripTik from AAA before heading off on a road trip. Now that there is GPS, I program nearly every address and let the system guide me. I use GPS all the time because it tells me my estimated time of arrival. Awesome!
3. I haven’t camped since I was a kid, and don’t plan to do it anytime soon. While I love the outdoors, I hate sleeping on lumpy, bumpy surfaces, have NO desire to use a public shower, and don’t want to eat out of a stainless bowl that I have to wash at the community spigot. I love staying in hotels. To me, it is one of the most relaxing things to do. My favorite hotels are the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, the Paris in Las Vegas, the Nine Zero in Boston, and locally we love heading to the Chatham Bars Inn for a quick overnight! Maybe if we have a fancy RV, I’d reconsider the whole camping thing?
4. Donating blood is something that I have always wanted to do, but have never been able to. There are a variety of requirements you must meet in order to be a donor, and each time I’ve gone there has been something preventing me from donating. I’ve been disqualified for not being old enough, not meeting the weight requirements, and having a fever! Hopefully next time there is a blood drive in my area, I’ll be a qualified donor!
5. We’re budgeting people in our house. Now. We started shortly after my best day ever, and have done an okay job sticking with it. It’s been a difficult adjustment, going from two incomes down to one. We’ve made lifestyle changes, like not going out to eat so often and not buying “things” just to buy them.
