It’s time for Five Question Friday! Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then LINK UP! How easy is that!
This week’s questions:
*****************************************************************************************
1. My favorite sign of Spring happens early in February. It’s called Truck Day. On that day a ginormous truck pulling a trailer packed to the rim with all goodies related to the Red Sox pulls off of Landsdown Street and heads to Edison Avenue (City of Palms Park). No matter what the weather forecast is, you know that spring really IS just around the corner.
2. My best birthday ever was turning 30. I was psyched to say good-bye {to all the bad decisions I made in} my twenties and welcome a new decade. The Texan planned a FANTASTIC surprise for me, too. He’d flown my mom to Florida to see me for the weekend! Yippie! I’m still shocked that they were both able to keep it a secret. I also received some very sparkly baubles from The Texan, my mom and my dad. So, turning 30 was good for scoring serious loot too. Almost makes me want to rush to be 40. Nah, that means The Boy would be six. No need to rush that!
3. My favorite dessert is…hmmm…that’s a tough one. I like carrot cake and tiramisu. Two desserts that I’d never make for myself. I guess those would be my favorites. If I had to choose.
Before I became a SAHM, I was not a baker at all. My skills have developed, you’ll recall that i beamed with pride back in December when bringing cookies for an event at The Boy’s school. Over the last few months, I’ve perfected the chocolate chip cookie {no joke, and I may even share my recipe with you lucky readers soon!}. But, those aren’t my favorite. They’re more of a go-to dessert. We {almost} always have them on hand. With or without nuts. With or without coconut.
4. I have never used an excuse to get out of a ticket. I have been pulled over ONE TIME since I earned my driver’s license in 1993. It was in 1994. I handed my license and registration over to the officer and sat in the car. Ready to throw up, sweating profusely. He returned to the car, and told me that he was going to let me off with a warning. And I had to tell my father {whom you’ll recall was a Police Chief} before he did. That’s when the tears started flowing. I said ok. Drove home. Confessed. You know what my dad said? That will be the last time you get pulled over without getting a ticket. And I believed him. Still do till this day.
5. Ya’ll know that I get up at O’Dark Thirty. Do you think I’m using an alarm clock? C’mon, who needs an alarm clock when I have The Texan? Guess what? The Texan’s been out of town the last few days – and today I slept until 7:30. I’ve been chasing my tail ever sense.
