We’ve been watching the Olympic trials this week. I’m so impressed by how quickly the swimmers travel from one end of the pool to the other. In a straight line, too. Amazing! It’s hard to believe that the 2012 Olympics are just around the corner. Have you seen the venues? They are gorgeous, as an Olympic venue should be.
A great way to get into the Olympic spirit at home is to host a mini-Olympics of your own! Leave your red, white, and blue decorations up until the Olympics start as a way to show your support of the home team. Kids will love participating in potato sack races, three-legged races, the long jump, and shooting baskets.
Including adults is easy. Ask your guests to bring a beverage that represents a participating country along with an interesting fact about their country. Everyone will have fun learning about other cultures and sampling new beverages!
Once your party goers have worked up their appetites, invite them to enjoy the Hormel Natural Choice new chicken and smoked sausages. The Chicken sausages are available in apple gouda, spinach asiago, and jalapeno cheddar varieties. I’m looking forward to the spinach asiago served with a side of the best cole slaw ever! If you’re a fan of smoked sausages, be sure to try the original, beef and turkey varieties.
