Go Back to School with Ivy Bridge College

I have always been impressed by those who seem to do the impossible. Those who look in the face of adversity and say “I got this.” People who do things like going back to school while having a child at home, a full-time job, and a spouse. My dad was one of those people.

Twice a week, my dad would drive two-hours each way to attend classes at a university in the city closest to us. This was after working an eight-hour shift as a patrolmen keeping our small community safe. We’d sit at the dining room table and do our homework together a few times a week. As a girl, I remember thinking how fun it was to have someone to do homework with at last. My dad completed his degree, and received several promotions until retiring as Chief of Police just a few years ago. I’ve always been so impressed by his drive and desire to provide more for his family, even when it wasn’t always easy.
