This year, I won’t be able to spend my mom’s birthday with her. Unfortunately, there are too many miles between us. I am thankful that Hallmark birthday cards might make up for us not spending the day together.
Birthdays are important milestones, no matter your age. At the start of each year, I sit down with my new life planner and transfer everyone’s birthday from one planner to the next. For the younger crowd, I put the age next to their name – and if you’re having a “BIG” birthday as an adult, I make note of that too. No special notation if you’re just turning 37. Writing all of our family’s important dates is a must-do to help me stay organized and not miss anyone’s special day!
For as long as I can remember, I have always purchased Hallmark cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. To me, the Hallmark brand shows the recipient that you care about them and want them to feel important on their special day. Please tell me that I am not the only one who flips a card over to check for the Hallmark logo! {And these days, they’re made from 20% recycled fibers!}
When shopping for birthday cards, I like to keep each recipient in mind. I do not purchase “all purpose” birthday cards to have on hand, opting instead to go for a more personalized card. A card for my mom will have “Mom” printed on it, one for The Texan will say something in reference to “my wonderful husband.” Many of my cards are purchased in advance, I love browsing the greeting card aisle at my local Walmart. The selection is great and the Hallmark department always has plenty of Hallmark birthday cards to choose from.
For me, it’s important to choose the right card without paying too much attention to the price. There are times, however, when we are paying closer attention to our budget and that means choosing a more affordable card. I love that Walmart carries Hallmark birthday cards for every budget!
During this trip, I chose a few cards for my mom. It’s always fun to receive more than one card on your birthday, don’t you agree? Walmart makes it so easy to find what you’re looking for, the aisles are clearly marked!
The selection was awesome. I had a tough time making a decision, but narrowed it down to a few.
I must have been craving sweets while shopping! The second card was a giant cookie!
And one sweet, heartfelt card.
The Boy and I will bake her some chocolate chip cookies next week, wrap her gift and package everything well and head to the post office to ship them for safe arrival just before her birthday.

YAY for cards first! I don’t think the card and the gift need to be similar – though this year we will be sending my mom some homemade chocolate chip cookies to go with one of the cards!

The more affordable cards come in handy for many nieces and nephews that we send cards to every year. It’s amazing how quickly it can add up if you let it!

I love Hallmark. It is definitely my favorite place to buy cards. I love that even their cheaper cards are good quality, unlike some stores 🙂

I agree! Just because you’re spending less, doesn’t mean that you should have to skimp on a quality card!
