If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you know that I’ve been hinting at starting my own business for some time. {YAY! Me!} A few days ago I stumbled upon this great new-to-me blog, Three’s 4 Me, and learned that October is being touted as Small Business Month there. Nicole, the savvy mom behind it, has great things lined up for the month – including fun giveaways, interviews, and a linky party to help all of the wanna-be-small-business-owners like me share our experiences about turning our hobby into a business.
Nicole’s linky party was my inspiration to get my butt in gear and get this business started! {Thank you, Nicole!}
Can you imagine if Mrs. Fields kept her cookies all to herself?
My blog is {fairly} successful, and growing consistently. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. And, since I’ve started viewing it as a small, small business, I’ve been able to earn a little income. In fact, I’ve been able to help Santa with most of The Boys Christmas gifts this year. The same fear that I have now about my small business, I had when I started this blog. What if no one reads it? What if no one cares what I have to say? That proved to be a silly fear…and I’m hoping the same thing happens with my new shop!
Armed with my new get-out-there and get-after-it attitude, I plan to will Open Shop on Monday, October 10. So, if any of you WordPress peeps can walk me through linking from my blog to Etsy, via the menu bar, that would totally rock. 🙂

YEAH!!! Congratulations. I have been thinking along the same lines lately, fear of failure is huge, good for you for pushing past it. Can’t wait to visit your Etsy shop!

Yay you indeed!!! I had a big fear of failure for my shop too! I’m so glad I overcame it and took a leap of faith :). I’m sure you’ll feel the same way!
I’m glad that you are taking this leap too. I hesitated for a while too. I was afraid no one would like my items, but the first sale I made is now a repeat customer. =D

I think Bill Gates, and many more have had the fear of failure! It is normal when you take the risk and jump into your own business. I commend you for taking that leap! No matter how it turns out, you have a ton of courage for just trying it! Good luck to you!
