We’re getting ready for The Texan’s parents to come visit. They haven’t been to the Cape since The Boy was four weeks old. He’s four years old now, and while we’ve seen them several times on trips to their home in West Palm Beach, this trip is going to be busier than ever! Their visit prompted The Texan and I to finish up some projects around the house. These projects are “nice to do’s”, and have been on our list since we moved in October. Number one item:
I filled in the holes from photos that were previously hung in the stairway while The Texan and The Boy headed out for bakery treats. I should have photographed those, but they were so delicious we gobbled them up right away.
We found a can of paint in our basement. No one could remember where we used it initially, but we knew it was given to us by my dad. He wrote “Jan 2012” on the lid. After much thought, we realized it was a bathroom reject from my dad’s house, but we’d used it to paint the bathroom in our old house. Perfect. The color is Behr’s Silver Screen – a pale gray with a blueish tint. It brightens up the dark stairway.
We had a great helper for our project.
Of course, he lasted about four minutes before need a break.
While we had the paint out, we also started on a small $16 Bathroom improvement project. Here’s a sneak peek:
Yes, I know, not much of a hint. I’m working on that post next. Look for it tomorrow!
I’ve mentioned that we used to live in Florida. And anyone who’s ever lived there knows that Publix makes the best subs ever. I was super excited when a friend came to Cape Cod this week with an armful of Publix sub rolls. I had two. Yes, in one day.
Oh, and remember that Pesto Chicken and Tomato Kebabs meal that I was so excited about in this week’s menu plan? Yeah, it was even tastier than I thought it would be. I used tomatoes from my dad’s garden. They were amazing grilled. Simply amazing.
Although we had a lot of sunny skies this week, we’ve had our share of rain, too. Wth the rain, we’ve been treated to one of nature’s beauties – rainbows!
After a busy week, The Boy slept peacefully:
And, I had some down time, too. Nothing more fun than a little Ikea and some organic blueberry vodka with lemonade.
The Texan was super busy this week with work. Don’t you hate when work gets in the way of life?! Starting at 5pm tonight, he’s on vacation for more than a week! Hip hip hooray!
How was your week? What fun things are you planning for the weekend?

Can’t wait to see the project!! The picture of the rainbow is beautiful!!cc
