Many of you may already know that I love, love, love, love, love to take photographs. You follow me on Instagram, right?! I take photographs to document my family’s story. I have a beautiful DSLR that spends most of it’s time at home in favor of my iPhone camera. Please tell me that I am not the only one with a neglected DSLR! Please! {That might keep The Texan from selling it on eBay!}
I’m sharing my week in photos because I love them. Photographs are often shot, but not looked at again. Remember the old days of developing the photographs from film? I imagine that more people took the time to look at their photographs then, life is so busy these days. We often forget to stop. Forget to reflect.
Although it is June, you wouldn’t know it by the weather outside. Mother Nature hasn’t brought us the beautiful warm, sunny days that we’re used to on Cape Cod. Instead, we’re stuck inside as if it were October!
To pass the time, we’ve played Candyland. A lot. Don’t you love that game?
And Go Fish. That game is fun, too.
The Boy has painted quite a few masterpieces. I like to paint on canvas. It’s fun. And, it’s a great way to NOT throw away the artwork.
Maybe painting with brushes isn’t always the most fun. How about painting with your entire hand! It lends itself to darker canvases, but is still fun. This is also a great sensory exercise.
It stopped raining for a bit last Saturday. When the sun poked out from behind the clouds, we went to the local fair. It’s a traveling carnival and was only in town for the weekend. It wasn’t crowded. Apparently, the middle of the day is the best time to go. Who knew?
As the saying goes “Fair is Where You Get Cotton Candy” – we couldn’t pass up bringing a bag home. The Boy wasn’t impressed, and quickly asked if he was eating hair. Such a funny kid!
On Saturday evening, we went to a joint father-daughter birthday party. Isn’t that a fun idea? For the daughter, I chose to put together a Project Life childhood edition mini kit. This is a big year for her, she’ll be starting a new school in the fall and moving in with her dad and step-mother in the fall. I hope she enjoys telling her story as much as I enjoyed putting the album together. I hope she’ll share parts of it with me one day.
My favorite part of the gift, was wrapping it. This paper is perfect for a tween!
I wore my two dollar shirt to that party! Isn’t it awesome to catch a deal at The Loft and really save money!? I couldn’t have bought the fabric and made it myself for such a great price.
I may have over indulged a bit at the party, so I made certain to reconnect with my man, Bob, this week. Have you tried the Yoga for the Warrior workout? Whoa! It’s intense. I love that I can do it on my time and push myself as if I were in a traditional yoga class.
I did some cooking, too. One of my favorite dinners this week was an easy Shrimp Stir Fry. Are you a fan of stir fry? We don’t serve it over rice, just eat the proteins and veggies. It was delicious and filling. I used a bit of toasted sesame oil, crushed red pepper, and other spices. Mmmm. It was wonderful.
Remember, photographs are made, not taken.
For the first time EVER, I’m linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for the InstaFriday party. Come join in the fun!

Oh my gosh, Amy, Bob’s yoga is the best yoga DVD that I’ve ever done. It’s a true work out – you really feel it the next day! Good luck with it if you try it.

Wow! Talk about a busy week. The fair looks like it was a blast. Too funny that he thought cotton candy was hair.
Have a great weekend!

We did have a blast! And the fair was perfect – in and out in about 30 minutes, before crowds, too! Whoo-hoo!
