Summer. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, maybe AFTER Christmas, summer is the best time of the year! I love that we let go of most of our rules, that we eat ice cream for lunch, and that bed times are not so regimented. What I don’t love, is that the ten weeks of summer go by so quickly. I’m trying to cherish every day, every moment, everything fun.
I realized that I am already falling behind sharing our week in photos. Yikes! It would appear that we ARE having too much fun this summer!
Two weeks ago, we went to see Thomas the Tank Engine at Edaville Railroad. What an amazing day! The first time The Boy went he was just shy of being a two-year old and didn’t quite grasp how awesome it really was! Now that he’s pushing four, he understood just how EXCITING it was!
Here’s The Boy waiting for the conductor to come and punch his ticket!
The Boy had a hard time NOT turning to look over his shoulder at Thomas! I had to take this shot multiple times! Boys are so curious, aren’t they?
The Texan and I had a “date breakfast” and went to Panera. Yum. Have you heard about their Hidden Menu? There’s some good looking stuff there, like this Steak Breakfast Bowl that The Texan ordered.
One warm, but ever so cloudy day, we took a drive to the beautiful Cape Cod Canal. Isn’t this sailboat gorgeous?
As we walked, and walked, and walked some more, we caught a glimpse of this GIGANTIC Irving barge. Can you see the people on the jetty? This thing was massive.
After that, we hit one of our favorite ice cream shops, Katie’s Homemade on Main Street in Hyannis. They have the most amazing flavors, and everything is made on site. The Boy ordered Pistachio, inspired by the movie Cars 2. Remember the scene were Mater thinks he is ordering Pistachio ice cream, but it’s really Wasabi? Oh that makes me laugh.
Because running all over Cape Cod just isn’t enough fun, The Texan decided we should stack the washer and dryer to make more room in our second bath/laundry room. It was a great idea. Two things: I am thrilled I didn’t have to help, and I should have painted first.
I’ll be back next week to share our fun Independence Day celebrations. Would you believe that we went to THREE parades? I sort of think we’re nuts.
This week, I’m linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for her InstaFriday series. So cool. So fun. Come join us!
Ahh, too funny! We just ordered a new washer and dryer set and are debating between keeping them side-by-side (like we have now) or stacking them. That IS a lot of extra room. Hmmm…
The stacking is great, now I need to come up with a shelving/storage system. Would love any ideas you have!
Yay for Thomas!
