I’ve always loved photography, as a young girl I can remember helping my dad develop film in the darkroom. I’m not sure how helpful I was, but that time spent with my dad fostered my love of cameras. Cameras have come along way since then, in fact, many of us use our phones as cameras. Crazy, isn’t it? While using your iPhone is a convenient way to capture memories with your family, very often you’ll find yourself in need of some editing tools. These are my must have iPhone photo apps.
Camera Apps
You’ll definitely want to check out CameraPlus. The features are amazing! You can choose from 3 focus modes – macro, normal, and far. Within the app, you’ll find several tools to edit your photos – from adding text, to enhancing the color, lighting and tone. This is a must have for older iPhone users.
Another favorite is Camera Awesome. Using this app, you can quickly take your photo, edit it and upload it with one tap to your favorite social networks!
Photo Editing
Rhonna Designs is my favorite iPhone app, hands down. With a variety of fonts, phrases, and and embellishments, you can transform your boring photos into frame-worthy prints!
Photo Storage
The iPhoto App from Apple is a great receptacle for your photos. It quickly organizes your photos, allowing you to browse effortlessly. The built in editing tool provides enhancements to your photos with just a few swipes of your finger. If you are a Mac user, your photos easily transfer from device to device via the cloud.
Photo Sharing
Instagram is my favorite photo sharing app. It makes it easy to quickly share your photos {and videos} with family and friends. You can make your feed private and only approve the folks that you know to see your feed. My one piece of advice: do NOT use the Instagram camera. Take your photo first, then upload it to Instagram. If you’re struggling with Instagram, you’ll find great tips to increase your social media presence on Instagram here.
What are your must have iPhone Photo Apps?
Great to know. I am obsessed with Instagram, but that is the only one you have listed that I have. I will have to check the other ones out.
Instagram is addictive! I love it, too!
I have alot of these apps. but to be honest my sons download alot on their own.
Great suggestions. I have most-except the photo storage app.
Thanks, Lori! I love iPhoto – especially because it gives me easy access to my photos across ALL of my devices. Comes in very handy when I want to see a beautiful summer sunset in the dead of winter!
I barely have time to comment. I need to go download some of these apps right now. I’m starting with CameraPlus! Thank you!
I had to come back. Have you heard about Groovebook?I so love it! And, I’m not an affiliate or anything but they gave me a coupon code for unlimited friends to try it out. The code is BUTEAU9 and it gets you your first month free. Up to 100 photos printed in a cute little book (with perforated pages to tear out of it if you want to) from your iPhone for $2.99 a month including shipping. I absolutely love this app!!
Ya know, I’ve heard of Groovebook but haven’t checked them out. I love the idea of printing a book each month. I’ve been working on a photo-a-day project for more than a year, it would be fun to print out every month in a book of its own. Thanks for the tip!
I love using photo apps and adding a little fun to all my photos. These are especially useful to bloggers.
I have the Rhonna designs app now but haven’t used it too much. It’s a lot of fun though! I use my airline apps a ton too.
I don’t have an iPhone but my tech savvy grandma does and she loves taking pictures. I’m going to tell her about these apps!
I’m living in the stone age I think LOL as I don’t have an iphone and my current phone is accent and you can’t even get apps on it!! I seriously need to get a new phone!
Oh WOW Natasha! I’ve been using iPhones for 4 years – and seriously do not know how I survived without it! If you transition to one, be sure to check out these fun apps!
Camera plus is one of my favorite Iphone apps. I used it to edit my photos I love the HDR feature.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I really love taking pictures with my phone but would love to make them look more professional. I’ll be checking out these apps.
Thanks for sharing these awesome apps. I like Rhonna a lot, but I’ll look into the others.
Rhonna is addictive! I love her work – and the fact that you can do so much without having to make all of the in app purchases was a huge selling point for me.
If I get an iPhone, I will definitely check out these apps. I especially like the sound of the photo editing app.
I love taking photos with my iPhone. I need to go check some of these apps out! Thanks for the list!
These are great, thank you, Emily! I will definitely be on the hunt for some of these!
My daughter is an instagram addict. I will ask her if she knows about the other apps for her iphone.
Nice. The apps look amazing. I should consider upgrading to an iphone.
I am still learning to use instagram haven’t figures it all out but learning.
Instagram for the win! Yelp is another app that I absolutely need on a daily basis. How else would I know which places are good to eat at? 😛
I love all of these apps. I love that we can get very creative using our mobile devices.
This is a great post! I am going to pin it to my iPhone board but I am actually getting rid of my iPhone. I’m trading up to a Windows phone! 😉
Thanks, Tiffany! Good luck with your Windows phone. I’m an Apple girl all the way – can’t imagine using anything else!
Lately, I’ve been taking more photos on my phone then my professional camera. I have to check out these photo apps they have. lol
I don’t have an iPhone, but these all sound like apps I would use. I really need to upgrade my not-so-smart phone!
I have Rhonna Designs too – they are fab!
I love Rhonna Designs! It’s such a fun, colorful way to jazz up your photos!
Thank you for this app recommendations. I’m interested on that photo storage app.
My daughter has downloaded a number of app for photographs. I cannot keep up with them. The only one I really enjoy for one is Instagram.
I need to get a good app on my phone for photo sharing! I will have to settle on one!
My daughter would be interested in this since she has the iPhone 5. I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 so these don’t really apply to me and it take great pics anyway. I try not to download too many apps that I don’t need.
I love Instagram the most. I’ve been playing around with some editing apps but haven’t found one I really love yet.
I don’t own an iPhone, I have a Samsung. For editing I use Pixlromatic. Fun with so many filters!
I primarily use Instagram and the iPhone Camera app, but I also like playing with A Beautiful Mess for cute fonts too!
I’m going to check out A Beautiful Mess, I’ve heard great things about it!
