Can you guess what I’ve been doing the last few days? I have been exploring the plethora of advertising opportunities available to me as a Small Business owner. Doesn’t that sound fun? Having a small business is fun, but doing all the leg work is so time consuming.
What I have learned about advertising, is that online marketing is the only choice for me when it comes to marketing my business. While it would be wonderful to have an unlimited supply of money, that is not my reality. Online marketing is affordable and easy. After setting up my shop, I fought the urge to run to the print shop for business cards and fliers. Instead, I scoured the internet and read everything I could find on effective marketing techniques.
The one thing that continued to come up was using the internet to work for you. I use Facebook and Twitter to promote my small business, as well as spent a small amount of funds advertising on websites with demographics that match my target market. (At press time, that’s everyone!)
It is my hope that people who see my advertising, read my tweets and posts will find my brand approachable, honest, and affordable. Personally, I have greater trust in small businesses that take the time to utilize the internet in a smart way.

That is something that we need to move to soon, marketing. Now that we have more of an archive for people to go through I think we might be ready to take that step. I would love to read more about who you have decided to advertise with and why you chose those places.
OrangeSoda is a pretty cool site and I’ve always admired their homepage design. What’s funny is that as bloggers, we already do much of this for ourselves, it’s our “natural marketing power” but small businesses can definitely benefit from outsourcing to consultants such as OrangeSoda. Great review!
by the way, I keep forgetting to mention that I really love your site. I should be commenting more, but this is the first time i’ve been able to bloghop in weeks! LOL so i usually read via my android which is a useless piece of plastic and is only good for email, reading and tweeting. Again, great review!
I am an email reader, too. Via the eyePhone. I find it too difficult to comment from there – unless I remember to save the email I don’t always get back to comment either! 🙂
