Confession time: last week we didn’t stick to our Menu Plan. Not for lack of trying, but there were some activities that I forgot about while making the menu plan. I should have consulted my planner while creating the menu plan – like I suggested to you in my menu planning tips post!
The good thing about not following the plan from last week is that I don’t have to get too creative for this week!
Monday – Turkey Tacos
Tuesday – Chicken Parm {one of The Texan’s specialities…I wonder if he’ll make dinner?!} with salad
Wednesday – Jamaican Grilled Wings and onion rings {baked onion rings are amazing, and The Boy loves them, too!}
Thursday – Chicken Caesar Salads {I’ll have a salad, The Texan will whip his up into a wrap.}
Friday – Pizza and Salad
Saturday – Fresh Seafood {I’m thinking Scallops Mascarpone or Baked Cod}
Sunday – YOYO {Your On Your Own} – which will translate to leftovers or dinner out to celebrate the start of Daylight Savings Time
Last week, we switched up some of our meals. That was a fun surprise, though not eating pizza on Friday felt weird! To me, pizza on Friday signals the weekend is coming. We had it on Thursday night and I haven’t know which day it since!
What are you having this week? If you tried a great new-to-you recipe, tell me about it in the comments below. We have favorite foods, however I am always looking for new recipes to try!
I am so jealous of your menu plan. I have never been able to stick to one. I know it would keep my grocery bill down and help a lot on busy week nights! Thanks for sharing.
One thing I do, Angela, is not beat myself up if we don’t eat what I planned for a specific day. Last night, we had pizza instead of Chicken Parm. It wasn’t a big deal and tonight we’ll have the chicken parm!
It cuts down on the chaos and the wallet if we at least what I’ve planned for the week.
I wish I was better at sticking to a menu plan! The closest I can get is to plan what we’re having for supper that night in the morning. Some days it’s 5pm and I still have no idea what’s for supper!
Oh Linette – that makes me crazy! If I don’t think about it at least the night before, it’s a disaster the next day. As I mentioned to another reader, we don’t always eat what is planned for that day, but we do follow the plan fairly well. I had the chaos and the “what’s for dinner” conversation, too!
I’m not a huge fan of chicken (shocking since I live in the country!) but the Jamaican Grilled Wings sound very appealing right now.
The marinade is excellent on seafood, too!
