Goodbye May! Hello June!
The weather – no matter where you live – was awful. My heart is aching for those in Joplin, Missouri who lost so much. (If you’d like to donate to help those impacted by the tornadoes, might I suggest using Aid Matrix. They are affiliated with FEMA, and their website makes it very easy to donate money and products, and to volunteer your time.)
At the beginning of the month, the entire world stopped as we learned that the mastermind behind the horrific events of September 11 was killed. Please take another moment to remember the families who were directly impacted by the attack. Of the children who were left behind.
The Featured Blogger series that debuted last month, continued with two more wonderful bloggers! Stephanie, the brains behind Always Just a Mom, gave us great tips to organize a spice cabinet. (Nope, still haven’t touched mine!). And Nancy who shares stylish deals and steals on her blog, Style n’ Decor Deals.
I was excited when Stephanie asked me to write a post for her blog too! Unfortunately, it was the same day as Blogger-gate. If you missed my post on Always Just a Mom, you can read all about my Teacher Appreciation Day pretzels here.
What was going on in the kitchen? For those of you who follow my weekly menu plan, you’ll notice that I sort of abandoned that. Don’t worry, we ate well and I’ll be back to posting regularly next week. Be sure to check out my Easy Spring Margaritas, Keurig Iced Coffee, and Blueberry Mini-Muffins.
As you know, I’m eyeballing a new sewing machine. I’ve narrowed my choices down, and may even get a serger too! Isn’t that exciting? The machine I have works fine, it’s just old and ugly. I want a new, fancy one. I decided to get creative and raise funds to purchase a new one. After all, this isn’t a necessity, and we do live on one income. I’m hosting a HUGE multi-family yard sale in a few weeks, and will use the proceeds from that toward the purchase! Smart, I know.
Be sure to join the No Shampoo or Conditioner pledge.
Thanks so much for continuing to read what I have to say, and to share your feedback. I appreciate all of my readers and look forward to another busy month interacting with each of you! Also, if you’d like to participate in my Featured Blogger series, please leave a comment here or email me.
