As a stay-at-home mom, it’s hard for me to squeeze in any “real” time for deep thinking on one particular topic. I tend to start thinking about one thing, like The Boy’s wardrobe for example, and just moments later I find myself online looking at all-inclusive family-friendly vacation destinations.
Before I became a parent, my thoughts used to be more organized and full of purpose. I suppose that relates to where I was in my life. I was a corporate gal, and there were daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines that I need to meet. I had to keep my thoughts focused and purposeful.
I prefer the way that I am now, for the most part. More relaxed. More go-with-the-flow. Yet still full of my OCD tendencies that allowed me to be successful in my career.
What does your thought process look like?
What what NaBloPoMo is all about? NaBloPoMo, created by the brilliant minds at BlogHer, is a month long blogging challenge to encourage you to write daily about a specific prompt. Today’s prompt was “Do your thoughts jump around or glide?” Although sign ups to participate in this month’s Blog Roll have closed, the daily prompts are available here.

I am not a parent so I can not blame becoming one on not being able to focus on one subject. I do however notice as I have gotten older my mind has tended to wonder on more then one thing at a time so, I understand what you are talking about.

I have 4 kids and they make forgetting easy to do when i’m on my way to do one thing and get stopped 4 different times for four different things! When the kids are in bed or at school i’m really good at being focused and staying on track. Darn kids! 🙂
