For those of you who haven’t heard my tales of woe about my computer “acting up” and my dreams of being one of the cool kids and owning a Mac, here’s your opportunity!
I purchased my laptop in January 2008. It was a super deal at a big electronics store. And it worked beautifully until September of this year. It still works, just not as fast and does a few other annoying things. The Texan has tried to fix it, but can’t pin point the exact cause of the problem. He keeps saying I should get a Mac.
A Mac is a beyond my budget. Considering I keep spending my “computer fund” on shoes, makeup, and other meaningless wants.
My friend suggested that I try online penny auctions instead of paying full retail price. I looked into it, and it seems easy. With some online penny auctions, you purchase tokens and use the tokens to bid on items you want. There are several items to choose from – everything from gift cards to electronics. I haven’t seen any Macs yet, but I have my eyes peeled.
Have you purchased anything through an online penny auction? How did it work for you?

I’ve never done a penny auction site but I think it usually ends up not being a great deal. I can’t vouch for it but it’s just one of those “too good to be true” things!
