Are you hosting or attending a party soon? With the holiday season upon us, it seems that party invitations are filling mailboxes across the nation! If you’re like me, you like to bring something with you when attending a party at someone else’s house. More often than not, I bring along a fabulous artichoke and spinach dip appetizer. But, during the busy holiday season, that is simply too labor intensive! When I saw the Rich’s SeaPak Spring Rolls in the freezer case of my local Walmart, I knew they’d be an excellent holiday appetizer choice!
When I got them home, I couldn’t wait to try them – party or not, the oven was turned on and I was ready to go! The SeaPak Spring Rolls are so easy to cook – simply preheat your oven to 450° and bake half the package for 13-14 minutes or the entire package for 16-17 minutes. Because I was just “testing” these before a party, I only made half the package. Which I regretted after sinking my teeth into the first bite. Sigh.
The texture of the Spring Rolls was wonderful – the wrapper was just crisp enough without being crunchy. The flavor of the shrimp, cabbage, carrots, and onions was perfect. Rich’s SeaPak Spring Rolls are a perfect party snack. If you’d like to try them yourself, visit your local Walmart on December 8th between 1pm to 5pm and sample them at the demo table! (Be sure to call before visiting to confirm!)
While the oven was working, I whipped up a few dipping sauces to serve with the Spring Rolls. I knew The Texan would like something spicy, so I grabbed Soy Sauce, Cayenne Pepper, and Olive Oil out of the cabinet. I whisked them together in a mason jar – about 2 ounces of each liquid and a few shakes of the Cayenne Pepper. Using a Mason Jar is a great time saver, it acts as a measuring cup and mixing vessel in one!
For me, I wanted something a bit sweeter. We had leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving in the refrigerator, and I decided to pair that with a Dijon Mustard. Into a clean mason jar I added two tablespoons of cranberry sauce, one and one-half tablespoons of Dijon Mustard, and one tablespoon of water. Be sure to give it a good shake to incorporate the flavors.
I decanted both dipping sauces into cute little ramekins – that’s how I’d serve it at a party. Can I be honest for a second? If it were just The Texan and I eating it, we’d put the sauces right on our plates. We’re crazy, I know!
We all know that the holiday season is busy, and while we want to make everything homemade there simply isn’t enough time to do it all. Take a little help from the folks at SeaPak, these great appetizers were recommended by Ladies Home Journal as one of the 15 best frozen appetizers to serve! No need to be fancy when it’s just you two! I love the thought of that cranberry sauce. We’re having company next weekend so I’ll have look for these spring rolls.

Yum! I love shrimp and spring rolls, so these sound like a great combo. I do have a party coming up this weekend. I’m already baking cookies for it, so I didn’t want to spend time making appetizers (but I’m supposed to bring two different ones). I might pick up some of these instead to make my life easier!

We often have appetizers for a meal, so I’ll have to check these shrimp spring rolls out. Cranberry mustard is one of my favorite things. I never thought about adding a little bit of water to thin it down. Hmmm…
