It happens every March. That overwhelming urge to purge and clean out my house. This year was no different. Despite the below normal temperatures and the snow squalls popping up every few days, the sun seems to be shining brighter and has me in the mood for spring cleaning.
There is something about cleaning that I really enjoy; a sense of accomplishment when I am able to look at an organized linen closet and a sparkling sink or two. A few months ago, I started using the Clorox Green Works® All-Purpose Cleaner and I continue to be so impressed with how well it works.
For me, Spring cleaning means more than just cleaning. It also means paring down. Getting rid of what you no longer want, broken things that have been on the “to fix” list far too long, and donating duplicate items. After sorting through the clothing in our closets and organizing the linens, it was time to roll up my sleeves and start cleaning!
In the master bedroom, I used the Green Works® All-Purpose Cleaner to clean our headboard, nightstands, and dressers. In The Boy’s room, I tackled his dresser, art table, and toy storage unit. Once I knew the bedrooms were sparkling and smelling fresher, the bathroom was on my list. Despite cleaning it weekly, I feared I would have to use elbow grease to really get things looking like new again. A few sprays of the Green Works® and a quick wipe down with my microfiber cloth and the fixtures were sparkling again!
If you’re like me, your baseboards probably don’t get regular attention, especially in the bathroom. I wondered, could I use the cleaner and the microfiber cloth to get my baseboards ready for Spring? Well, the answer friends was YES! I sprayed my microfiber cloth with the Green Works® and gave the baseboards a quick wipe down to remove all of the winter dust.
With a clean bathroom upstairs, I was eager to head down to the kitchen and tackle the cleaning down there! I used the Green Works® to clean my glass stove top, hood vent, and microwave. It cut through the grease and left my kitchen with a pleasant smell. The glass stove top has been a challenge for me as many products streak or leave a residue, that is bad news for a type A gal like me! The Green Works® cuts through the spills and left the stove top sparkling.
It’s been my experience that the Green Works® products work just as well as their chemical counterparts; and I feel good about cleaning my home with them. Using natural cleaners is important to me and I appreciate that the Green Works® line sources ingredients from renewable resources, aren’t tested on animals, biodegradable cleaning ingredients, and leaves behind no residue. When you use a microfiber cloth, you’re doing even more for the environment because you’re not throwing paper towel into the trash.
Is cleaning with natural products like Green Works® important to you?

I love eco-friendly! I’ve tried green works before and loved em!
Ugh! I have baseboards that need attention right now. I have an office project under way, and part of that is painting… but before I can paint, I need to clean the baseboards! I usually clean with a vinegar/water spray, but if I find a good deal on green cleaners, I will pick some up.
Baseboards are one of my least favorite things to clean! They make me crazy! I let my son ride his balance bike indoors (crazy, I know!) and several of my baseboards now have black scuffs. I’m really looking forward to repainting them now that they’re so clean.
Hmm, I will have to give this a try. Spring cleaning is actually one of my favorite times to clean because I love the feeling of getting rid of the “old” and making everything so nice and clean! I’m always looking for good cleaning products, thanks for sharing about this one!
I love Spring Cleaning, too! Cleaning out “old” stuff is so fun – though it does make me wonder WHERE and HOW I acquired so much stuff!
Lol seriously!! I think that EVERY time I start cleaning stuff out or I utter the phrase, “When in the world did I buy this?!” lol.
HAHAHHA! I am so glad that I am not the only one who has that reaction! Sometimes, I think someone snuck in and planted the stuff.
I totally need to deep clean my home but I am so lazy right now. Maybe this will motivate me.
Crack your windows and the let the fresh air creep in – maybe that will help??
That sounds like an awesome product! I need to do some Spring Cleaning SO bad!
I really need to get moving with the spring cleaning my home is in need of some help! I have used these green items in the past, and were very happy with them,.
Green Works is a great cleaner and I have never hesitated to use it. My friend and I used our past chemistry knowledge to understand all the ingredients they use and they are all safe and non toxic.
I’m happy to hear that you’re using GreenWorks, too!
We’ve been wanting to try out green cleaners more in our household because of our animals. I’ve seen this one on the shelf but have never picked it up. I’ll make sure to give it a try 🙂
Looks like an awesome product. We’re supposed to have sunshine this weekend so I’m going to try and get some cleaning done!
I really do hate cleaning, but spring cleaning is always so nice and fresh. You get to open windows 🙂
I”m looking forward to opening my windows – but not washing the harsh winter off of them!
Yes, cleaning with natural products is very important to me. I tend to use these products a lot. My kids like to help me clean and I would never use anything else.
I have only been using Green Works lately and I’m really happy with it. As far as liking to clean though….lol….no. But I DO like things when they’re CLEAN!!
I love GreenWorks too! It’s so nice to have a cleaning product that really works without having to worry about harsh chemicals!
We just did a ton of spring cleaning! I got rid of six garbage bags full of kids clothing, as well as three large tubs that went to sale. Then we had a bank inspection, so I had to make sure EVERYTHING was clean. If feels sooooo good to throw out so much junk and clean everything. The house feels fresh, rather than stuffy and stale!
WOW Karly! I am impressed! 6 bags of clothing is a lot to get rid of – I bet it felt wonderful.
It was awesome! I have closet space again, ha ha ha!
Cleaning with natural products is definitely important for us. If I clean with regular harsh chemical products I either get a severe headache or try to break out because my skin is so sensitive. We usually make our own but it is good to know that if I don’t have the time I can go buy some that is green too.
The Spring cleaning bug has definitely hit our home! Will pick some up to try out! Thanks for sharing!
Love that it can be used in so many different ways- I definitely like having just one thing I can use almost everyone, much more likely to use it that way. I need to do a spring cleaning, especially to my kids rooms, yikes!
It’s great how versatile the product is! I love it!
I love Green Works stuff! Green is good!
Honestly, I usually buy whatever is on sale, but this does sound like a great brand. I really do need to get started on my spring cleaning, though – my house needs it bad!
i have this exact bottle of cleaners at my house, I love that i can let the kids use it and not worry about whats in it.
It’s never been the most important thing, but I love the Greenworks products! Sadly, I don’t actually have any right now. Guess I’ll have to change that!
Ah yes spring cleaning i really need to get started and get things done.
I am in Spring Cleaning overdrive and too funny I just picked this up this morning to try out! I’m excited!!
I totally need to look into this! I have a baby and I should get better products!
I hate cleaning but I love having a tidy house . I try to use natural products as much as I can
Wow– I need to make an effort to bring more “green” products in my home. I’m always worried that it will not get my home as clean as the “harsher” chemicals. But I will definitely give this one a try!
I wish I could spring clean but we’re in the process of looking for a new apartment so it kind of defeats the purpose. Hope we find something soon so I can the products a try.
I love this brand. It’s awesome and kinder to the air without the chemicals. It also cleans real great, so that surprised me
Hi Melanie!
It’s wonderful to find a product that is friendly to our environment AND does a great job! I’m thrilled with how well Green Works performs and happy to know that you’ve had the same experience.
Happy Cleaning!
I use eco-friendly products s much as possible. Greenworks seems to be a good option. I use the Doterra essential oils
I have four children, so I always try to use green cleaning products as much as possible. I will have to try Green Works out.
I really need to start my spring cleaning. I have been trying to use more green products in cleaning lately.
Spring time always makes me want to clean and declutter!!! I’ve already started with my closet!
This sounds like a great product. Will have to try.
I like that these are Eco friendly. My boxers are very allergic to the harsh chemicals in traditional cleaners, so I have to always be on the lookout for more naturally made products for cleaning. These sound great!
“Green” cleaning is just now getting on my radar. My goodness. There are much better options than the chemicals I use now. Overwhelming, really. That’s why I haven’t done anything about it yet LOL
Green products have improved greatly – from performance to ingredients! You should give GreenWorks a shot – I think you’ll be impressed!
OH ugh, don’t remind me how horrible my baseboards are. Actually, maybe it’s a good idea you reminded me! I need to do some Spring cleaning!
Liz,
Baseboards make me crazy! Yesterday, I was rearranging our living room – cannot believe how dusty the baseboards were behind the couch. Gross! But the GreenWorks tackled it quickly.
Happy Cleaning,
emily
Interesting new product!
we’ve got forced heat so I have to wipe the baseboards a lot or they get dusty. I haven’t tried a microsheet though, and they sound better than a duster! I like and use green products though, as often as I can. 🙂
The wonderful thing about using a microfiber cloth is that they trap the dust in the cloth, where traditional dusters just push the the dust around and back into the air. I’m sure you’ll love them if you give them a shot!
I just bought some of this the other day. I love green cleaning products.
It’s about time for us to do a thorough spring cleaning. I love trying green products as we are trying to eliminate some of the chemicals in our home.
I will be picking up a cleaner to get my window sills and walls/baseboards cleaned up next week for Spring Cleaning. This product sounds perfect for that!
That is really neat. We have this product at our local stores. Will go pick up a bottle since we got to get our spring cleaning into gear!
I like Greenworks so much. I’m getting really sensitive to chemicals these days.
I love Clorox Greenworks! While I’m not done spring cleaning yet, I just used it last week when I started spring cleaning in the kids’ rooms!
I’ve tried Green Works, it had a nice smell to it if I recall.
We have this product up here so will be seeing about getting my hands on some. Spring cleaning is in high gear at my house!
I have to get my spring cleaning on.I was worried about using natural/green products but they clean just as well.
I love green products as it helps not only the environment, but better for everyone in the household. Who wants harsh chemicals in our system & around the home?!
I love eco-friendly cleaning products. I’m not much of a spring cleaner, but I do try to at least get rid of winter clothes and stuff that we don’t need anymore.
I’ve been reading more and more about green cleaning products. It’s great to be able to clean and know that what I spray on my counter isn’t going to hurt my kids in the long run.
