As part of my Day Zero project, I am going to read 24 books before September 17, 2014. It’s a bit of a small goal, but I wasn’t doing much consistent reading before starting my Day Zero on January 1st of this year. My ten summer reads are:
1. The Happiness Project – Gretchen Rubin
2. The Help – Kathryn Stockett
3. Poser: My Life in Twenty-three Yoga Poses – Claire Dederer
4. Gone Girl – Gillian Flynn
5. The First Husband – Laura Dave (if you like weak female characters)
6. Julia’s Child – Sarah Pinneo
7. The Magic Room – Jeffrey Zaslow (if you have a daughter)
8. Fifty Shades Trilogy – E L James (on my list to read because everyone else is reading it!)
9. Confession of a Scary Mommy – Jill Smokler (on my list to read!)
10. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened – Jenny Lawson (on my list to read!)
I’m doing fairly well with my book list, and I think I’ll end up reading more than 24 books. What books are you reading this summer?
Be sure to link up your Top Ten post with us this week!

I’ve heard of some of those books, they sound awesome!
I’m checking out some of these books now! I am always on the lookout for more books to read. Gone Girl, by Jillian Flynn blew me away. I just finished it last night.
I loved that one too. I feel like I should re-read…you know to see if I pick up on anything that I missed from my first go around!
Do your “grey” books count as one or three books? ๐
Here is my summer reading list. . . I wonder if I’ll ever get to any of these!
1) The Long Earth, Terry Pratchett
2) Travel’s with Charley, John Steinbeck (re-reading)
3) Wild, Cheryl Strayed (finished it– meh)
4) In the Garden of Beast, Erik Larson
5) State of Wonder, Ann Patchett (sp?)
They’re on the list, but I keep bumping them down in favor of other books. I’ve read a bit of the first one, but it’s so poorly written that I may end up waiting for the movie!
Oh how I miss books! Since having my girls, I feel like I have no time to read, but I definitely need to make time! The Help is on my list as I want to read it before I watch the movie!
I do most of my reading on my Kindle. It’s great and I feel like I make more time to read now that I have it. I had the first generation Kindle, and for Christmas my husband gave me the Fire. Reading relaxes me, and I make time to read each night even if it’s just 10 minutes.
I am always looking to add books to my reading list, I will look into these
lol I do not read but I probably should!
Haven’t read any books since December 2009. Sucks.
There’s a bunch ple on your list that look interesting. Looking forward to your reviews (I’ll live vicariously through you for now).

Thanks so much for stopping by, Sarah! I should have included my reviews in the post, it completely slipped my mind. I updated the post, but keep in mind that some of the links aren’t true reviews, but rather posts inspired by the books!
Definitely adding these to my “must read” list. I always love recommendations from other bloggers!
From the books on your list, I’ve only read The Help. Loved it! I pinned your list so I can check out some of the others.
Thanks for the book ideas!! Library, here I come. ๐
