If you’re a busy mom, it’s important to take time to treat yourself. Today, I’m sharing four ways to treat yourself after a busy week.
Buy Yourself Flowers
One thing I like to do is to treat myself to a bouquet of fresh flowers. Typically, I buy them from the floral section at the grocery store. There are so many varieties available – over the last few weeks, I’ve been loving tulips. I am often amazed at how beautiful a $5 bunch of flowers can be.
Splurge on Your Favorite Beverage
Whether it is a case of Steaz Iced Tea or a bottle of red wine to enjoy at home, go ahead and make the purchase. There are plenty of wines that I love, but don’t buy them often because they’re at a higher price point. Once in a while, it’s nice to splurge.
Enjoy a manicure and pedicure
Close your eyes for a second and picture the sounds of the jets as the warm water laps at your feet. Pedicures are so relaxing. If you work a job that requires you to stand for long periods of times, having someone pamper your feet is a great reward. I am someone who uses her hands a lot, whether it’s typing on my computer or washing dishes, my hands and nails take a beating! A manicure is just what I need! I like to bring my own Essie polish to make it easier to do touch ups at home!
Take a day off
You’re probably thinking “A day off? What is that?!” It’s so important to really take time for yourself. If you’re a stay-at-home mom, a work-at-the-office mom, or a busy entrepreneur, make sure you are taking a day off now and then. I work from home and try to schedule a day off while my son is at school. On my day off, I don’t do laundry, go to the grocery store, or really do anything that might be confused with being productive. Sometimes, I meet a girlfriend for lunch. On one day off, I went to the beach. I’ve used a day off to test out new running shoes and eat Chocolate Peanut Butter Popsicles.
I’ve shared my tips for creating a work life balance that works for you. When I’m not following my own tips, I easily become overwhelmed. And, my friends, that is not a pretty picture. I recognize how important it is to treat yourself after a busy week.
