This week was a blur. I have almost NO photos. What the heck have I been doing? Seriously?
On Saturday, we took The Boy bowling for the first time. You may recall that The Texan and I went a few weeks ago. It was so much fun, we thought it would be a great idea for a family outing. We were right! The Boy insisted on the pink ball, which weighed 7 pounds. I was thankful for the cheater ramp thingamajig. Though he only used it once and decided he was done.
The kid bowled a strike. Just one. But still. He loved the shoes so much he asked if he could wear them to school. The thought of that made me want to gag. I still can’t get over the fact that I put my baby in rented shoes.
On Sunday, The Texan was prepping for the BIG Savannah St. Patrick’s Day rugby tournament, so I took The Boy for ice cream. Because everyone in New England loves to eat ice cream in the winter. It is the strangest thing.
Monday was cold. Again. Can I tell you how over this winter I am? It’s been endless. Winter Weather Advisory after advisory. It is getting old.
And Mother Nature keeps delivering as promised.
The cold weather means we’re eating comfort foods. Like this killer shrimp and scallop risotto.
And, turkey chili. I like beer in my chili. Do you?
We managed to squeeze in some naps along the way, too.
Also – I had a stroke of brilliance. Did you see? A totally awesome way to cut a grapefruit. WHY am I just now learning this??!!
Monday is March 10. Big deal, right? Well, I’m going to be sharing a #10on10 series with my Instagram peeps! It’s simple, you just take and share 10 photographs on the 10th of the month. You can share via Instagram, Flickr, your blog, wherever. The point is – start taking photos and DOING something with them! I first learned about it from Mel at The Larson Lingo. She’s been doing it for a while, and I think it’s brilliant. Here’s her 10 on 10 from February.
What are you doing with yours?

Oh we love to eat ice cream and frozen custard in the winter here too! Hubby and I may have gone out for ice cream in a blizzard or two… besides winter lasting too long it looks like it was a great week!

Darcy! I am seriously starting to doubt that winter is going to end! As I type this, I am watching snowflakes fall from the sky. Such an endless stream. I don’t mind the snow; but the gray cloud that has been stuck over our area for so long is making me nuts. I really, really want to see some sunshine!

Hi Emily. Do you the recipe for shrimp and scallop risotto? We do meatless Wednesdays and Fridays so I love new ideas. Pizza gets old! Thanks
Emily says
Pizza does get old – it’s right up there with ravioli! I hope to share the recipe on Thursday, I need to photograph it tonight!
