Our Week in Photos: a Wine Cabinet, an Elf, and a Life Planner

What a busy week we had! I love being busy and building our family traditions.

One tradition that I really enjoy are father-daughter date nights! My dad and I have always had a great relationship and enjoy having date nights. Last year, he treated me to the Red Sox home opener (!) and as a Thanksgiving treat this year, we took in a great Bruins game. {Complete with dinner and adult bevies! We didn’t win the 50/50 raffle, so no tropical vacation for me!}

On Sunday, while The Texan was out playing rugby, I was busy at home painting the wine cabinet that he built. I love the turquoise! {More photos soon!}

We decorated our Christmas tree on Sunday night. This year, The Boy was so excited to hang each ornament. Before he was born, I was a bit neurotic about where the ornaments were placed and the type of ornaments we used. I’ve let that go. Watching him gently place each ornament on the tree brings me more joy than I could imagine.

Are y’all doing Elf on the Shelf? Our elf, Bernard, is busy bouncing around the house. He doesn’t cause any mischief, because I don’t want to clean it! One night, he was giving Jerry Remy a big hug. I guess Bernard knew of the trade that was to come and wanted to offer comfort.

This week, my new Erin Condren 2014 Life Planner arrived! EEEEEKKKKK!!! Super excited to fill it with birthdays, anniversaries, and fun events!

We took a quick trip to the mall to meet a certain someone in a red suit.

The Boy was very excited to see this Playmobil Knight character, too!

Our Gingerbread house is decorated and ready to go. Last year, ours didn’t get thrown away until Valentine’s Day. My goal is to get rid of this one before the Super Bowl.

And, I still found time to bake these amazing Oatmeal Carrot Raisin Muffins!

Life isn’t measured by how many days we have, but what we do with them.
