In yesterday’s Week in the Life post, I talked about how I’d wanted to complete a Week in the Life project last year but didn’t get around to it. I am so excited about this project, and it is coming together nicely. Just a few days into it, and I am realizing that I need to include The Texan and myself in some photos. When we look back on this in ten years, I’ll want to see what we looked like and how young we were!

Tuesday started early. Again. It was dark when I woke. Again. It was the sound of The Texan’s alarm and the airplane engines starting up. Again. As I do most days, I made our bed right away. This mundane task, makes me feel ready to face the day. In my mind, my day goes more smoothly when I start it with a well made bed. Anyhow, as I was making the bed, I thought of how much I want to paint the walls in our bedroom. Two walls are a lovely shade of turquoise, the other two are brown. It’s time for a change. And wall decor. We hardly have any. I think I feel a craft project coming on!

I snuck downstairs and enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee and fueled my magazine obsession through my NextIssue app. Amazing app, you should sign up if you’re a magazine hoarder. $10 a month for as many magazines as you want.

There was no school for us yesterday, so we spent the morning eating breakfast and lounging. After checking the refrigerator, I realized that we needed food if we were going to eat. Off to Trader Joe’s we went.

I was thrilled to see that there were few people there. The Summer of 2013 was brutal here on Cape Cod. A lot of visitors, rumored to have come here in lieu of going to New Jersey’s battered coast. Hurricane Sandy continues to impact the lives of so many, nearly a year later.

We put away the groceries – always fun! It looks like all we eat are crackers. Trust me, we eat more. Sometimes we have cheese or peanut butter with our crackers.
After that, we sat down for lunch. I was nearly attacked by dinosaurs.
Did you hear about the derailment yesterday? From my point of view, it was horrific.
We also worked on a few new LeapFrog activities. Or games. Do you call them educational toys? The Boy refers to his LeapPad as his computer and the LeapReader as his talking pencil. Too much technology to keep up with sometimes.
We received very exciting news yesterday at 4:38pm.
I made Paleo Pad Thai for dinner last night. I’ll write the recipe for y’all soon. It was delicious. Just spicy enough without being overbearing. I tend to have a heavy hand when it comes to spice level. Oops!
Hello there Clay!
It happened last night, finally. After months of waiting.
Did you watch? Oh. My. Gosh. Cannot even believe it. I think I need to watch it again.
Be sure to follow along this week on Instagram as I continue to share my Week in the Life with you. I’m shooting for a daily post as well, but do keep in mind that I don’t typically post on weekends and I haven’t decided if I am going to make an exception this week. If you’re interested in seeing what other’s Week In the Life looked like on Tuesday, check out the link party that Ali is hosting!

This is such a great post and series idea! I love the journalistic aspect of it, it’s a great way to document your life, so cool!
Thanks! It’s been a fun series, but hard, too. I find myself photographing “stuff” rather than the every day moments. I might have to do this series once a month for the rest of the year until I “get it”!
