Football season is finally here! We have waited a long, long time for this season to begin. It feels especially long to our family because here, loyalty lies with the Texas Longhorns, the Florida State Seminoles, and the Dallas Cowboys. {No champions among any of our teams last season!} The Texan and I kept busy this “off season” teaching The Boy how to throw a football, how to say “Hook ’em Horns” and that his “star plate” is really his “Dallas Cowboys” plate.
When I heard that P & G, together with Walmart, would be launching a new family-focused football movie, on Saturday, September 3 at 8pm on NBC, I was excited for the chance to preview it. I knew that it would give me my “football fix” I desperately needed. In this new film, Game Time: Tackling the Past, Pro football star Jake Walker returns to the small hometown he left in pursuit of a Hall of Fame career. He soon learns that his contract will not be renewed and he is faced with a tough road ahead. Full of regret, he realizes that he must rebuild relationships with the family and friends he left behind all those years ago.
I enjoyed watching this Family Movie Night film. Despite being a bit predictable, this is an enjoyable movie. It is full of wonderful family relationships and beautiful lessons to teach your children. You’ll enjoy watching it, too. And, if you’re not going to be around this Saturday, September 3 at 8pm, be sure to set your DVR to NBC! This is one sports themed movie that doesn’t disappoint. You don’t want to miss it.
You can learn more about the film, the cast and crew by visiting the Family Movie Night website or the Family Movie Night Facebook page.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of P & G and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Hey thanks for stopping by my blog! I saw the previews for this movie… it looks good. Thanks for sharing a review and have a happy Wednesday 🙂
Girl, we have even more in common now! Love the Longhorn (obviously) but love the Seminoles too! I was born in Florida and my uncle went to FSU – hopefully it’s time for one of those two teams this year! As far as pro football teams go, I’m a Broncos girl even if I am in Cowboys territory. Funny story, I used to put out our US flag and Broncos flag on game day and ended up selling the Broncos flag when we moved to Texas because I was scared someone was going to torch our house.
