The bathroom is one room in our house that gets messy so quickly! The frequent use of the space by everyone in the home – and visitors – lends itself to getting messy. Today, I’m sharing tips to keeping the main bathroom of your home clean and an easy bathroom wall art tutorial.
Keeping bathroom clutter at bay can be tough. We attached two wooden spice racks to the wall near the sink allow for ample storage space for toothpaste and lotions. While a pedestal sink looks beautiful, I do miss the storage beneath the sink.
If it’s pretty, you want to keep it looking that way. A few years ago, The Texan and I performed a $16 Bathroom Spruce Up. The addition of shelving and decorative items adds an element of surprise when you poke your head around the corner to the toilet area.
One thing that you can’t hide in your bathroom is toilet paper. We’ve recently switched to Scott Naturals Tube Free toilet paper. Not having a toilet paper roll has generated quite the conversation piece among our friends. I always tell them that the Scott Naturals Tube Free is more environmentally friendly without the wasteful tube! Can you believe that over 17 billion tubes are thrown away each year?! That’s a lot of waste! Using the tube free style is better than recycling!
What’s great about Scott Natural Tube Free is that you can find them in the bath tissue aisle at Target with the other products. Right now, you can save $2 off your purchase by using this coupon. That’s nearly 50% off the price of a 4-pack! Cha-ching!
Easy Bathroom Wall Art
If you like quick projects, this one is for you! From start to finish, this project can be completed in under 20 minutes!
Picture Frame
Vinyl in your favorite color
Electronic cutting machine (or a sharp utility knife)
For this project, I used an electronic cutting machine. {If you don’t have one, please don’t worry, I’ve included instructions for you at the end!}. I selected the design from the Silhouette Design Store. {It’s design #45715}. Import the design into your software and mirror the image right away. This step is crucial because you’ll be applying the design to inside of the glass of the picture frame.
Resize the image to your frame. The frame that I am using is 10 X 21. When you’re ready to cut, set the material to Vinyl and adjust your blade setting if necessary. Load the vinyl into the machine and perform a test cut {vinyl can be pricey!}. Then you’re ready to go!
Once the design is cut, use a pair of scissors to remove the unwanted vinyl from around your design. This process is called weeding. Leave your design on the paper backing. Apply the transfer paper over your vinyl and burnish it with a credit card.
Peel the vinyl off the paper backing and transfer it to the glass. Use the credit card to smooth the vinyl down.
To make this project without an electronic cutter, simply search for the image you’d like to use and print it out onto white paper. Trace the image on the back of the paper using a black permanent marker – this mirrors the image for you. Cut around the image to trim off excess white paper. Tape the design to the vinyl and cut it out using a utility knife. Be very careful, those knives are sharp! And they can cut you! Once you have your design cut out, follow the steps above to affix it to the glass of your frame.

That is so cute. And I definitely need it for my kids. Who don’t ever flush the toilet. Especially at night! Love the idea, and I wouldn’t have thought to do it on vinyl and glass. It looks gorgeous! #cilent

I hear you about a pedestal sink and no storage. I had to make a basket to hold our toilet paper or the roll never gets replaced. I have to make one of these signs too as a reminder for the kids.
