I have decided to start a Book Club. I am currently the only member of this club. I choose the books that we I read. Perhaps this is more of a "Hey Everyone! This is what I'm reading" than it is an actual club, but I don't care. Call it what you want. The mom's group that I belong to runs a book club, and there are a variety of reasons why I do not participate in that one. Such as, the books they've chosen don't interest me, the homes they host the book clubs in do not meet my definition of clean, and I often can't make the date/time of the event even if their house is clean!
For my first Book Club selection I’ve chosen a wonderful written (well, so far so good any way) novel about one woman’s quest to broaden her cultural awareness by experiencing the arts and studying what she doesn’t know. Accepting other cultures, and being mindful that “your way isn’t the best way” is so very important – particularly when raising children. I’m certain that this book is going to help me tremendously as a mother. I can’t wait to finish it!
If you haven’t read it already, please join me in reading My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster! Check back soon for my blog posts about this guide to getting some culture into your life.
