Our Week in Photos – Family Staycation

Here we are, digging out from a fun family vacation! The Texan’s parents were here last week from West Palm Beach. Did you see the Instagram hashtag #inlawsonthecape? Yep, that was us – or I should say that was them! We had amazing weather – as in shut off the air conditioner and open the windows amazing! The seriously could not have picked a better week to visit if they had tried.

Just before their visit, we completed our affordable bathroom shelving project. I love how it turned out!

While they were here, we ate lobster and ice cream. Lots of ice cream. The Texan and The Boy like chocolate. I usually go for vanilla – or peppermint stick. Nothing beats a well made peppermint stick ice cream. Here’s The Boy’s chocolate with chocolate chips.

There were glorious sunsets.

There were roaring fires in the backyard fire pit. And marshmallows. Okay, they were really S’mores. Don’t judge. These are summer bucket list items!

There were family photos.

And we had some downtime, too. Backyard picnics and movies are so fun!

And there were pedicures. Hooray for orange. It’s so bright and cheery.

There were cocktails.

And morning coffees.

We said “See You Soon” to them earlier this week and slowly started getting back into our routine. The Texan is back to work – Boo! And The Boy and I are back to the playground circuit – Yay!

The Texan and I have another date night planned for this weekend! {We snuck out on Wednesday night for drinks and the sunset. We missed the sunset, but our drinks were tasty!} I feel so fortunate that we have a caregiver that we can trust. It’s nice to have someone around to give us time to reconnect and relax.
