Featured Guest Post: Always Just a Mom

I’m super excited to feature the lovely Ms. Grenier who is Always Just a Mom to the cutest peanuts you’ve ever laid your eyes on. She writes about fun times with her family, tasty recipes, and organization. She also has an awesome pink bathroom, which I adore.

I asked her to write a post for you about organizing, because she does it so well. If your spice cabinet is anything like mine, you’ll appreciate her tips!

Hi, Nap Time is My Time readers! When Emily asked that I do a post on organization…I was thinking, pondering and wondering what I needed to organize…I realized, while making dinner, I MUST organize my spice cabinet!  It’s a mess…such a small, little place but it needs to be organized!!!

 I pulled everything out of the cabinet, got rid of anything that was “old” as I did find some spices that were stuck to the bottom of the jar and expiration dates that were about a year over due.  I then stacked the “smaller” spices on the bottom shelf in the front. 

I also am using a wooden spice rack my husband had before we were married.  It is not something I would chose but I’m making it work.  I decided it was silly to have to PULL each jar out looking for the spice or herb I needed so the shelf fits perfectly on the top shelf and I just took a Sharpie and labeled each of the containers.  In the picture below you will see there are two containers with no labels…they are empty and I’m going to use them for when I make some homemade Emeril’s Essence!  Very excited!

LOVE IT!  So much easier to use and see what I have…plus with the list on the cabinet door…will be very helpful.  I will tell you that this is above our stove and I’ve read that this is not a very good place to store your herbs and spices….so I’m sure in the future I will be moving these around but for now this is where they have to be in our kitchen.
