Once again, I am linking up our week in photos with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for her InstaFriday series. So cool. So fun. Come join us!
I was looking at our photos from last week, I noticed how incredibly cloudy it has been on Cape Cod this summer. That seems to be a theme around here. As I’m writing this week’s post, it is cloudy. The humidity is sticking around and everyone is miserable. Locals and tourists alike. Before I move on, I had to share this great piece that my friend Ashley, the Modern Day Wife, wrote on bicycle etiquette on Cape Cod. Her language is a bit more colorful than mine, but she makes many great points! We want y’all to be safe while you’re biking around the Cape.
Okay, so we hit three parades on Independence Day. No, that wasn’t a typo. THREE! I love small town parades with lots of children, dogs, cheesy floats, and fire trucks. And, going to a parade was on our Summer Bucket List…I should give it three check marks!
I am a huge supporter of law enforcement, my dad had 35 years of service when he retired. Though motorcycle patrols remind me of C.H.I.P.S., not my dad!
Look! My namesake tractor! How could I not photograph this?
This fire truck was old, but beautiful.
While waiting for the second parade to get started, The Boy decided to use The Texan as his personal climbing structure. But, that’s what dad’s are for, right?!
We got free tickets to the Cape Cod Baseball league! {It’s not as cool as it sounds. ALL of the games are free!}
I’m still working on my weight and getting healthier. Shaklee has been a tremendous help and I’ll be sharing an update shortly. These sneakers are super comfy, too!
The Boy and I squeezed in one nice day at the beach. He had so much fun! We made sand castles, went swimming, had an ice cream from the ice cream truck, and played on the swings before heading home.
We all worked on an upcycled craft project! Having the family participate in a project is so much fun! Tutorial coming soon, would you believe this soon-to-be flag was once an adirondack chair?
If you are following my Instagram feed, you saw that The Boy and I took a trip to the Sandwich Fish Hatchery a few days ago. I pulled this Nevada quarter out of my pocket to buy the fish food. Did you know that The Texan and I were married in Las Vegas? Our wedding weekend was amazing, here’s to hoping we get back there this calendar year!
Oh – and big excitement around the house yesterday! We got new shells for our driveway. Now that we have giant pieces, I’m hoping that more of the shells stay outside. It’s tough having a shell driveway as all of the itty-bitty pieces sneak right in on the bottom of your shoes. And, even though we don’t wear shoes in the house, I still find them everywhere!
What do you do on cloudy days? Grab a cowboy hat and dance!
How was your week?

Party, party, party! Mmmm…bet you had a lot of cake, too! That’s always the best part of birthdays. I hope yours was a happy one. We’ll be celebrating The Boy turning four next week – and we’ll be having a dinosaur cake! Rrrrawrrr!

Thank you! The rug is from Mohawk Flooring – we purchased it at our local Home Depot!
