This time of year, I always feel that there aren’t enough days in the week to accomplish everything I would like to get done! Please tell me I am not alone! We aren’t entertaining as much this year, but one party I plan to host a few days before Christmas is a Make Your Own Reindeer Ornament party for The Boy and his friends.
The Boy is off for two full weeks beginning this Friday, and I’m going to make sure that he has a BLAST in the days leading up to Christmas. While we’ll be making plenty of holiday recipes together, I want to make sure he creates something that will last for years to come.
When his friends come over, I’m going to set up a Make Your Own Reindeer Ornament assembly line so no one misses out on anything!
What You’ll Need to Make Your Own Reindeer Ornament
Craft Sticks
Craft Paint
Glitter Sealant
Foam Brushes
Pom-poms
Wiggle Eyes
Glue
Pipe Cleaners
How Make Your Own Reindeer Ornament
Using a foam brush, paint your craft stick and letting it dry. I chose Basic Brown and Santa Red. {Pro tip: Use your hair dryer or a heat gun to speed up the drying process.}
Add the glitter sealant in a thin layer using a clean foam brush.
Apply a small amount of glue to the reverse side of your pom-pom. Place it in the nose position of the craft stick.
Attach the wiggle eyes.
Bend the pipe cleaners into antlers and hang on your Christmas Tree.
Doing a trial run of a craft party has it’s benefits, you know. I made sure that I enjoyed one of the delicious ice cream treats we’ll be serving. Haagen-Dazs Gelato Bars.
The creamy vanilla gelato with golden caramel ribbons, fully dipped in milk chocolate with crunchy Italian style pizzelle cookie pieces takes my mind off of all of the busyness the month of December brings.
On second thought, I think the kiddos might be having another ice cream treat, these are almost too good to share!
