I failed miserably sticking to our menu plan last week. The good news, it’ll be so much easier to plan for this week! I have learned, but often fail to remember, that I need to plan for leftovers and my own laziness. Some nights, I just don’t feel like cooking. We do much better when I plan a crock-pot meal because that requires virtually no work, and yields amazing results! (Usually)
Monday: Chicken Pot Pie (skipped last week. And The Texan was not happy. )
Tuesday: Edaville Railroad night – dinner out!
Wednesday: Oven-baked Chicken Fingers (hold over from last week…and the week before)
Thursday: Spicy Shrimp Stir-fry (yep, another hold over)
Friday: Leftovers or pizza
Saturday: Christmas Eve (usually means ordering Chinese, but this year I might try to make it myself.)
Sunday: Crock-Pot Christmas Dinner

I think we’re having pizza on Friday too. And for Saturday & Sunday, I have no idea. I might have to steal your Chinese takeout idea. I want to know what your crock pot Christmas dinner is going to be!
You should make a lasagna on Saturday and eat it for both Saturday & Sunday. That’s one of my favorite weekend meals, but The Texan isn’t such a big fan. He was thrilled tonight that I actually followed through and make the Chicken Pot Pie!
Spoiler Alert: Crock Pot Christmas dinner is going to be turkey breast (crock #1), garlic mashed potatoes (crock #2), and traditional stuffing (crock #3). Sadly, I’m going to have to turn on the oven for green beans and my bread pudding…unless I can get my hands on a few more crock pots. Maybe CVS has a cheapie? This will be my first time doing “Crock Pot Christmas” dinner, I am psyched & hope it turns out great. When it was just The Texan & I, I whipped up Thanksgiving in an hour (no joke) and it was awesome. Fingers crossed CPC is as successful. 🙂
P.S. – I pinned your fancy prancy ketchup recipe. Watch for it.
You have great menu plan. I wish I have time also to use my creativity and stuff…I suppose X-mass is good time for this:)
I love that you have a plan for all of your meals! I should really try this! We always end up debating over what we want to eat for over an hour then get frustrated and end up ordering something. lol!
We sometimes STILL do that! Having a menu plan simplifies things so much. It’s has been a big time and money saver. Give it a shot, I’m sure you’ll love it too!
