I can’t believe that I am going to say this, but: HOLY COW! There are only 20 weeks left in 2013!! I find that the last four months of the year always cruises by. There is so much going on – back to school, my birthday (yoo-hoo!), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Gee. It’s a wonder there is even time to sit down and write a menu plan!
My in-laws are here on vacation. We’re so happy that they’re in town. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other; and while FaceTime is great, it isn’t the same as hugs! This week’s menu plan is going to be a bit of a jumble. I expect things to get crazy, and to not follow the plan to a tee. At least I’ll get credit for trying, right?!
Monday: Lobster and sweet potato fries. It’s always nice to welcome people to Cape Cod with a lobster dinner. Come visit, we’ll show you!
Tuesday: Grilled Something or Another. My father-in-law mentioned that he wanted to do a lot of grilling while he was here. I think I’ll pick up some fish or scallops. Or both.
Wednesday: Ribs. You know that The Texan is from Texas, right? Well guess where his dad is from. Yep, Texas. And these Texas men love their beef. So, Ribs it is. I think I’ll have a salad. Meatless Monday on Wednesday. Better late than never.
Thursday: The Texan and his dad are going to see Ron White. Yep, the comic. He’ll be at our local music venue, The Melody Tent. I always joke that all the “old school” artists show up there, that’s how you know your career is in it’s twilight! {Poor Ron!} I think my mother-in-law and I will head to Main Street with The Boy, let him ride on the carousel and grab appetizers and head home.
Friday: Pizza. Cannot give up pizza. I love, love, love it.
Saturday: We’re having a party! We thought it would be fun to invite family and friends over to meet The Texan’s parents. Isn’t that a great idea? Yeah, I have no idea what I’ll cook. Maybe some tequila lime chicken and a big crock pot of turkey chili? Party is at 6, stop by and say hi!
Sunday: Let’s go out for dinner!
What’s cooking at your house this week?
I’m off to link up with I’m an Organizing Junkie, she hosts a wonderful Menu Plan Monday link up and there is always so much inspiration there!
