It’s Fall, Y’all! We woke to temps in the high 30s today! Yikes!! I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the weather warmed up this morning, but still the 30s are a promise of the cold winter to come. Of course, winter means comfort foods on the weekly menu plan. Can’t complain about those, right?
This week, I’m trying a few new recipes from Clean Eating Magazine. I feel like we’ve fallen into another food rut, hopefully these new to us recipes will jazz things up a bit. I’m looking forward to trying Wednesday night’s meal – I love almost anything that is served in a tortilla!
Monday – Crock Pot Whole Chicken with green beans and roasted red potatoes
Tuesday – Turkey Chili
Wednesday – Chile Chicken Tortillas
Thursday – YOYO – we’ll need to clean out the refrigerator and enjoy the delicious leftovers. I’m really trying to get myself to eat them. It’s tough as I don’t care for eating the same meal day after day.
Friday – Homemade Pizza
Saturday – Clean Eating Lasagna Rolls
Sunday – Jamaican Grilled Chicken Wings and Sweet Potato Cinnamon Brownies
What’s cooking at your house this week? Are you trying anything new?

I’m much better at menu planning than I am about sticking to it! I’m easily swayed into ordering delivery or heading out to a restaurant. I’ve noticed that as we focus on our grocery budget, we’re more conscious of what we are eating and the “want” to dine out is less.
This month, I’m focusing on reducing our spending – and trying to follow the USDAs recommendation for how much our family size should spend on groceries. WOW. Such an eye opener. Thanks so much for stopping by!
