Saturday, April 30, 2011 is the date for the second National Prescription Drug-Take Back Day. If you’re not familiar with this event, it is a no cost, anonymous program allowing you to turn in any prescription drugs that you may have in your home. Not having unwanted and/or unused prescription drugs in your home prevents potential abuse. Did you know that most prescription drug abusers obtain their drugs from family and friend’s? Now is a great time to empty your medicine cabinets!
Public Service Announcement: drug take-back day
Last September, 121 TONS of unwanted prescription drugs were collected nationwide. WOW. Go. Run to your medicine cabinet now. With more than 4700 participating locations nationwide, you’re certain to find one in your area. For more information, visit the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency website and click on the “Got Drugs?” icon.
