Every so often, I stop and look at my life’s path. Where I’ve been, what I’ve done, where I haven’t been, what I haven’t done. For the most part, I wouldn’t chance a thing. Sure, there are a few bad hair cuts {think Mary Lou Retton} and bad outfits {did anyone else tuck their pants into their socks?}; yet for the most part, I am sure that I am where I should be because of the decisions that I have made along the way.
One fab choice that I made as a teenager was to attend a business school. It was an easy decision for me, at the time I just knew that I wanted to be an accountant. Of course, my plans changed after the first accounting course. I discovered that my brain worked better with Communications and English. A little shift in my life path, but for the most part I remained on course.
You may remember that I worked as part of the marketing team for a big corporation for years before moving from Florida. I wonder if my knowledge and training will be stale should I choose to re-enter the work force when The Boy heads off to kindergarten in the fall of 2014. It may be a great idea for me to consider an on-line program to brush up on hot topics and trends. I’ve heard there are wonderful Colorado business school’s which offer on-line programs. It’s wonderful that we have the opportunity to attend MBA programs in Colorado from the comfort of our Cape Cod living room. Technology is a wonderful thing, isn’t it?
Did you attend business school? Or decide to after your children started school full-time? How did it benefit you and your family?

Good luck!! I’m soo ready to start grad school myself. My son is 2 1/2 and in preschool in the morning, but I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd son. I’m really thinking about starting school online next fall. Even if it’s only 1 or 2 classes at a time. I miss it. But I’m scared about being able to juggle it all.
You can do it! A friend of mine had a full-time corporate position, a four-year old, and went to a brick-and-mortar school DURING her pregnancy to earn her Master’s. It’s all about prioritizing and staying focused on your goal!
I did my degree online through Colorado State and loved the flexibility it afforded!
