Here we are, reading to kick off summer and I still have a few books left on my winter reading list to get through. Embarrassing, I know. They’re more serious books, so I think I’ll put them aside for now. The summer reading list for moms is packed with lighthearted and fun reads – perfect for beach days and playground reading! Even though I have slacked a bit in posting my #15BooksIn2015 on Instagram, I’m still reading!
Summer Reading List for Moms
Nothing says summer like relaxing on the beach with a funny, mostly true memoir. If you love laughing and reading irreverent writing – Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is a must read! Jenny Lawson – also know as The Bloggess – will have you crying in minutes! Be on the lookout for Jenny’s second memoir, Furiously Happy this September.
Another memoir that I’m looking forward to finishing is Glitter and Glue. It’s Kelly Corrigan’s story of how she grew into the woman she is today. It’s about travel; relationships; and growing as a person. It’s about who you look up to and why, and how that changes over time.
I first read The Help a few years ago and I can’t wait to re-read it this summer. Some stories need to be told, and although this book is a work of fiction, it reads like a true story. It’s someone’s story. A must read for everyone and anyone.
Do you ever wonder what your dog is thinking? Well, we don’t have a dog (we have a cat), but I often wonder what my friend’s dogs are thinking! In the book, The Art of Racing in the Rain, we learn just that. Enzo (that’s the dog) is a great narrator, for a dog. This is perfect, light summer reading!
Tell me, what’s on your summer reading list?
Thank you for the wonderful suggestions! I’ve been looking for some new books to purchase for the summer! 🙂
