I cannot believe that it is coming up on the last week of January already! I’m noticing that our days are getting a bit longer, which means that spring and summer are just around the corner! Hip-hip-hooray! The dismal weather today gave me plenty of time to work on my winter reading list for moms who like non-fiction.
If you’re following along with me on Instagram, then you know that I’ve pledged to read at least 15 Books in 2015. This challenge was inspired by the #14Booksin2014 that my friend Alyson dreamed up. You can join in the fun on Instagram by sharing the photos of what you’re reading and tagging them with #15Booksin2015.
A Winter Reading List should be full of inspiring stories that move you some way. We’ll save the “fluff” for our summer reading list!
Winter Reading List for Moms
A great way to start the year is by reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. It’s an account of her year long effort to improve her happiness. For me, it’s a great way to clear my mind and help me refocus on what matters most.
If you’ve followed the news over the last few years, then you’re probably aware that Detroit has been slowly imploding. Detroit: An American Autopsy certainly looks like a great read.
Speaking of things that are happening in our country. Chris Kyle. He was shot and killed by a man that was trying to help. The shooter is currently awaiting trail. I saw the movie before reading the book. I don’t typically do that, but now I am eager to get through this one. American Sniper is a must read for me this year.
I’ve loved Malcolm Gladwell since I read the first chapter of his book Blink. I couldn’t put that book down. I hope that What the Dog Saw is just as interesting.
Living in a busy world, we often forget how quickly our life can change. Signs of Life is a memoir telling one mom’s story about moving on after her husband’s tragic death. This has been on my reading list for two years. I’m going to read it this winter.
I’m excited to work my way through these five books! Tell me, which non-fictions books are on your winter reading list?
