One of my goals for my Day Zero Project is to decorate for each holiday. What better way to decorate your home than with a handmade wreath?
A few years ago I made a wreath for Christmas, which automatically makes me an expert in the field of wreath making. Lucky you! Here’s a quick and easy Valentine’s Day Yarn Wreath Tutorial.
Supplies You’ll Need:
Wreath Form
Yarn
Seasonal Embellishments
Glue Gun
Scissors
You’ll see that I chose three colors of yarn. Initially, I was going to use all three, but I am still recovery from elbow surgery. Switching out the yarn was just too much work for me. You should go ahead though, you’re nice and healthy!
What You’ll Do:
It’s best to first glue the end of the yarn to the wreath form. A great place to glue it is on the seam of the wreath form. Once the glue has dried, in about four seconds. You’re ready to move on.
Start by wrapping the yarn around the wreath form. Keep wrapping until you feel like you can’t wrap any longer. And then wrap some more. Be sure you’re pulling the yarn tightly all the way around the wreath form. There is nothing worse than a saggy wreath.
Once you’ve wrapped your entire wreath form in yarn, glue the end down with your glue gun.
Here comes the fun part!
Time to decorate!
I prefer simple, traditional decorations. And lucky for me I found these amazing felt heart stickers. Perfect for my wreath. You could also add felt flowers, a cute little bunting across. It’s your wreath. Jazz it up how ever you want!
I took my handy glue gun and glued them onto the wreath.
I thought just embellishing one side would be enough for me, but it wasn’t. I added a few more to the left side.
There you have it! An easy, budget friendly way to decorate for Valentine’s Day.

It was fairly easy to make, once I got the hang of wrapping the yarn without creating a huge knot!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
