The long, cold winters leave us longing for the warmer days that Spring and Summer offer. In our family, as soon as we see the first buds on the trees and crocus stems poking up, we head outdoors. This rush to get outdoors can leave you conflicted about dessert; let’s face it, most desserts aren’t easily enjoyed in the great outdoors. That’s why I’ve created this easy walking taco dessert and a simple tutorial for DIY Washi Tape Spoons so you won’t have to worry about losing your cutlery this Spring!
Making a walking dessert taco is much easier than you think. The folks at NABISCO have created Go-Paks! which are plastic and won’t leak. They are only about half full of product so it’s easy to add ingredients to the container – perfect for a walking taco dessert.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Walking Taco Dessert
Ingredients:
NABISCO Go-Paks! NUTTER BUTTER Bites Sandwich Cookies
Snack Pack® Pudding Cups in chocolate
Reddi wip Original
Colorful Sprinkles, optional
Walking Taco Dessert Assembly:
Open the Go-Paks! and remove half of the cookies, placing them in a small bowl or sitting them on your cutting board. [Tip: these cookies will be added to the walking dessert taco, so don’t eat them!]
Open one Snack Pack® Pudding Cup and scoop half of the container into the Go-Paks! on top of the cookies.
Add Reddi wip Original on top of the pudding.
Repeat the layering process ending with the Reddi wip Original and add a cookie or four on top. If using, add Sprinkles now.
Everything you need to make your own walking taco dessert can be found at your neighborhood Walmart. Head to the dairy aisle for the Reddi wip Original, Snack Pack® Pudding Cups are in the snack aisle, and a variety of Go-Paks! are in the check out lanes!
Washi Tape Spoons
Part of the fun of eating walking dessert tacos is actually walking with them outside. Right?! To ensure no spoons go missing, I whipped up these easy washi tape spoons.
Supplies:
Wood Spoons
Washi Tape in assorted colors and patterns
Washi Tape Spoons Assembly:
Decide how much of the spoon handle you want to cover. Then, begin by placing the washi tape on the back side of the spoon.
Gently wrap the washi tape around the spoon until you reach the back of the spoon. Using a pair of scissors, snip the end of the washi tape. Press the washi tape firmly to ensure it adheres well to the spoon.
Repeat this process on the remaining spoons, alternating colors and patterns.
Now this is the kind of walking tacos I can get behind!!
The spoons are brilliant! They look great and a fun way to serve up a snack! (client)
