A new year is a fresh start, time for making changes, setting goals and knocking them out! The problem I have is making the time to sit down and think about what I really want out of the year.
But, making time is exactly what I’ve been doing the last few days….okay, weeks. Alright, for the last two months! I’ve been trying to focus on what matters most. For now, it means decluttering my house, getting documents ready for the tax man, sticking to my half marathon training, and eating a well-balanced diet.
One little word is powerful. Turning your attention to one word can help you achieve balance, joy, stability, peace, and so much more. I’ve noticed that I have lacked focus lately. My head is full of ideas, goals, and dreams. My house is full of supplies for projects that have yet to begin and projects that are in process. It’s chaotic. Don’t get me wrong, I do finish things! Like this super fun tea towels!
As I focus on getting my mental house in order, our home, too, will become more serene. More focused on what matters most. Family, friends, and making good memories.
We all want the best out of life, and sometimes we bite off far more than we can chew. It’s tough to admit defeat, but there are times when we must do just that.
This year, I’m going to be more intentional. Say no more. Say yes when it feels right. Focus on what matters to me.
With eighty percent of the year left to experience, I hope you focus on what matters most to you.
