Having a night out with the girls is supposed to be the perfect way to unwind, have fun and go a little wild. I’ve often found though, a night in with a good movie, good drink and great friends can be a lot less stressful; and a lot more fun!
The Perks of a Girls Night In!
Recently, Ladbrokes Bingo published a survey that showed the trials and tribulations of having a night out with the girls, and I think I’ve experienced at least half of these! Tearing your tights, getting caught in the rain before the night even starts, and having a drink spilt over your dress have happened to at least 40% of those asked.
Seeing an ex, looking after an intoxicated friend and being the designated driver are amongst a huge list of things that make a night out on the town not so fun! It’s nice to know I’m not alone with my love of a girls night in: 70% agreed with me!
This survey really made me laugh and made me crave a night in with my friends. Nights out are never as fun as you think they’re going to be, so I really enjoyed reading those results.
Trying out new cocktail recipes is really fun for everyone to take part in, whether they’re super strong or virtuously virgin. If you’re planning a night in soon, why not try out two these tasty cocktail recipes?
Apple Blossom
Mix together 1oz calvados, ¼ oz grenadine, and lemonade to taste with ice. Strain the mixture into a tall glass with crushed ice, and garnish with an apple slice. Handy tip: dip the apple slice in a little lemonade as it will stop it from discoloring!
Merry Berry
Soak two handfuls of strawberries in half a bottle of vodka overnight in the fridge. Once you’re ready to drink your cocktail, blend the vodka strawberries with ice in a blender until crushed. Then add four shots of gin, and pour into a pitcher. Add lemonade to taste, and serve in a tall glass.
When was the last time you had a girls night in?
That Merry Berry sounds divine!! Can’t wait to try it!!
Let me know what you think if you do try it!
It has been way too long since I’ve had a girls night in…or out!! Between being a mom, working and blogging, there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day. I need to make more time for nights in!
Isn’t that the truth! And, add in cold weather – that makes it even harder to want to leave the house!
I know! I’m ready for spring. 🙂
